Sixty-seven days after he came to control, Patrice Lumumba was excused by state president Joseph Kasa-Vubu. Lumumba was set under casual house capture at the head administrators habitation. UN troops were situated around the house to â€Å"protect† him. After he was captured, Lumumba settled on the choice to escape out of his living arrangement around evening time in a meeting ambassadors vehicle. Mobutus troops were close behind, they tailed him. Now in the film, a Congolese non military personnel halted Lumumba’s vehicle and cautioned him that Mobutu’s troops were not far behind. He was advised to â€Å"Get off the primary road†, so they chose to cross the Sankuru River. The scene in the film shows Lumumba glancing back at his family, with dread in his eyes. From the demeanor all over you can tell he won’t be seeing his better half and family until the end of time after that day. He was caught that day close to the Sankuru River by fighters faithful to Colonel Mobutu. Lumumba was then moved on January 17, 1961, from the military jail in Thysville close to Leopoldville to a â€Å"more secure† jail in Jadotville in the Katanga Province. There were reports that Lumumba and his kindred detainees, Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito, were beaten by common police upon their appearance in secessionist Katanga. Lumumba and his kindred detainees were taken into the forested areas and shot individually. The watchmen attached them to a tree and shot them. As they hauled his supporters, they stood up to. Everything except one. Lumumba strolled himself to the tree, and promptly squeezed his back against the tree. He was not hesitant to bite the dust for what he had confidence in. It wasn’t enough that these three men were shot and executed; they were cut into pieces and afterward consumed. There is no proof of their passing and no cinders. One thing I gained from this film is that Lumumba had confidence that his message would live on after his passing. This is difficult to accept, particularly when he was dealt with so severely by Mobutu and his military.
